In December, the International results were released. At that time
we learned that the top five achieving countries in science were:
- Chinese Taipei
- Singapore
- Hungary
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
The United States ranked 35th out of 65 nations,states, districts
and consortia. Out of 38 nations, 13 states and 14 districts and consortia.
Naperville Community Unit School District 203 8th graders outperformed
their peers in 38 nations, 13 states and 13 districts and consortia
in science. NCUSD 203 8th graders rank first in the world in science.
The data indicate that two of the top five countries, Chinese Taipei
and Singapore performed similarly to NCUSD 203.
However, NCUSD 203 8th graders average achievement was significantly
higher than all other participating countries and states.
