LITERACY curriculum will include the following...

·        Letter Recognition

·        Letter / Sound Relationship

·        Letter Production - D'Nealian instruction

·        Phonemic Awareness - rhyming, music, songs, and poems

·        Concept of Word - tracking individual words left to right

·        Written Communication

·        Story Understanding / Prediction

·        Emergent Reading

MATH curriculum will include the following...

·        Number Sense - rote count to 100, count backwards from 10, number recognition to 20, create sets of objects to match numbers 0-10, problem solving, describe position and ordinality using 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and last

·        Algebraic Thinking - sorting and classifying sets, patterning, sequencing, graphing

·        Geometry - 2-D shapes (square, triangle, circle, and rectangle), 3-D shapes (sphere, cube, rectangular prism and cylinder), understanding positional terms, making comparisons

SOCIAL SCIENCE curriculum will include the following...

Umbrella Question:  How do connections shape our world?

·        Myself - How do I connect with others, my environment, and my family's past?  What choices do I make?

·        Native Americans - Then and Now (Hopi, Inuit, Wampanoag) - How are we alike? How are we different? How are storytelling and the arts used to communicate culture?  How does physical environment affect lifestyle?

·        Urban Mexico - Here and There - How are we alike? How are we different?  How does physical environment affect lifestyle?  How are storytelling and the arts used to communicate culture?
