We had agreed on two goals in field testing this course. ~ Field test reflections

  • First, to discover if the creation of videos in the Jasper mold was feasible.
  • Secondly to create one or two grade level videos.

What we learned:

  • Grade level experts need to be a part of each group.
  • The two-week period was considered right on target for the project.
  • For the first 5 days of the course we viewed a Jasper video each morning. This was considered very helpful in setting the goal and purpose.
  • It also was helpful in studying the technical aspects of creating and recording one of these videos.
  • To assist in problem development it was suggested that high quality problems be collected to be used as seed material for videos in advance of the two week workshop.
  • Maintain the first three days as an brainstorming and idea-generating period.
  • Providing that experts and equipment are available the participants felt that the class could support up to 20 participants. There needs to be one "expert" per working team.
  • They felt that the larger number would be very helpful during the brainstorming phase of production.
