President:

Presides over nine NCHS Home & School meetings (one per month).  She prepares and sets the agenda.
Represents NCHS Home & School at school and District functions.  Solicits parent volunteers.
Speaks at various programs about Home & School.
Directs the Communication between Home & School and the Parents.
Attends monthly General Home & School meetings.
Works with all committees on the Home & School and troubleshoots.

Vice President

Perform the duties of the President in his/her absence and other duties delegated by the Board.

Coordinates the printing and mailing of the Home & School Directory.

Post any changes to the Home & School website.

Secretary:

Responsible for keeping a permanent record of meetings by keeping the minutes.

Minutes are distributed to all board members and are approved by the board on a monthly basis.

The Secretary also does any correspondence, as directed.

Treasurer

Responsible for all the financial records of the Home & School, including writing and disbursement of moneys. 

Preparation of the financial records for audit purposes.

Dance Committee:

Dance Committee is the volunteer support to the Student Council for the Homecoming and Winter Dances.

It is divided into four parts:  Coat Check, Decorations, Refreshments, and Photography.

Coat Check provides a secure place for the students to leave their coats, purses, and other belongings during the dance.

Decorations decorates the cafeteria the morning of the dance.

Refreshments provides food and beverages to the students in the cafeteria during the dance.

Photography helps to keep the photography line orderly. 

To volunteer to decorate, serve food and beverages, help with photography or coat check send in the volunteer sheet from Home & School with your students registration.

Data Base Coordinator:

Prepare Volunteer Opportunities Form for registration packets.

Get feedback regarding Volunteer Opportunities Form from members of Home & School.

Forward Volunteer Opportunities Form along with cover letter to Mr. Caudill's office as this form will be included in the Registration mailing.  Mr. Caudill's office makes the necessary copies.

Pick up returned forms from the Home & School mailbox after every registration day.

Prepare spreadsheet for each of the volunteer areas.

School Store needs the list of their volunteers as soon as possible after registration.  Therefore arrangements need to be made for them to get their list in a timely manner.

After all data has been inputted into the spreadsheets, copies are made and distributed to committee chairs.

Copies of entire worksheet are made available to the Home & School President.

Father/Daughter Dance:

This chairperson is responsible for organizing the Father/Daughter Dinner/Dance.

This chairperson is responsible for organizing the Mother/Son Brunch..

Newsletter:

One person is responsible for the typing and publishing of the Central Scenes, the NCHS newsletter. 

It is published six times per school year.

Newsletter Mailings:

This committee gets together six times per school year to label and sort the newsletter.  This only takes a few hours of time.

Parent Awareness/SFCP (School Family Community Partnership):

These committees help enhance communication between school, family and community.

The Parent Awareness Committee assists the drug, alcohol, and tobacco abuse and violence prevention efforts at NCHS in cooperation with C.A.S.A. (Community Against Substance Abuse).

The Parent Involvement Committee helps support the dissemination of information about programs and activities at NCHS to the parents of students and the community.  It also identifies and integrates resources and services of the community to strengthen school programs and aid the development of new ideas and programs.

Parent Coffees with the Principal:

This chairperson plans five or six coffees in the fall and  four in the spring.

The coffees are informal gatherings of 20-25 people with Mr. Paulsen and another administrator. Parent questions are encouraged.  Volunteer hosts open their homes to the event.

 The committee chair will provide sign-up sheets in the registration packets and at the eighth grade Open House in January.

School Store:

Purchase the supplies and organize the volunteers to work the school store.

The Store is open everyday of the school year, except on early dismissal days, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Not only do we sell supplies we also sell gym shirts, shorts and locks.  We register students for various tests, (ACT, SAT, PSAT, AP) that occur during the school year and also pass out pictures.

Senior Class Party:

Liaison to the Senior Class Party and the Home & School

Staff/School Appreciation:

Hosts dinners for the teachers and staff before Parent Open House and before the two conference nights.

Prepares and serves refreshments for the evening Alumni Recognition Reception.

Provides and serves refreshments for seniors, their families, and guests following the evening Senior Commemorative Program during graduation week.

Volunteers:

This three year commitment involves a committee of three members who are assigned to specific Administrators, and are responsible for scheduling the volunteers needed for their various pre-approved activities throughout the year.

NCHS Home & School meetings are open to all parents of NCHS students.
We meet at 9:00 am on the second Thursday of each month in the conference room in Mr. Caudill's office.
