___ One of my favorite pastimes is collecting, what my father calls, "useless tidbits of knowledge". This could be anywhere from aardvark eating habits, to what is a zamboni? If I find it and it seems interesting, I will probably dump the link here (for lack of connection to anything else). Check back regularly for new links!
   
  • This Day in History - Did you ever wonder what happened today, but in the past? I begin my classroom here everyday by mentioning a historical event.
  • Encyclopedia Titanica - You guessed it! This is an online encyclopedia on the historic Titanic.
  • What does your name mean? Ever wonder if your name means something in its original language? This site will help you find out.
  • The Roman Empire - So you liked the movie Gladiator, but you're curious about the real history? Check out this informative site full of information and graphics.
  • OLogy - Did you know that "ology" is a suffix meaning the study of? Well this sweet site is all about connecting you to over 150 -ologies. Maybe you'll find some new ones!
  • Pirates - Not often you hear much about pirates. Well, incase your one of those interested few, check out this brief history of pirates and figure out fact from legend.
  • Froogle - Froogle is a new service from Google that makes it easy to find information about products for sale online.
  • US Mint - So how is this "new" quarters thing supposed to work? Ever wonder about the history of money? Here's a great government run site to tell you all.
  • Fact Monster - What could encapsulate "Random Knowledge" better than a site devoted towards facts? Need a little useless knowledge?
  • Last Name Finder - Ever wonder who else in the world has your last name and where they live? This simple program accesses a database which contains this info. Read it on a colorful USA map.
  • Famous Trials - Who is O.J. Simpson's and why should I care about his trial? Good question! This and other famous trials are layed out at this site.
  • Truth or Fiction? - This site is all about the "latest rumors" you hear circulating. Did congress really outlaw the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional? Find out here!
  • Terra Fly - Have you ever wondered what your home looks like from space? Simply enter in your address and this library of satellite will pinpoint the area! NEAT!
  • How Wide is America? - Matt Frondorf decided to take his camera and snap a picture at every mile marker. This leaves him with 3,304 pictures. If you want to see from the Statue of Liberty to the Golden Gate Bridge, check here.
