.....Julie's Garden

In June 2001, the Washington community lost a long-time friend and physical education teacher, Julie Vaughan, to a long struggle with cancer. Julie selflessly dedicated her life not only to the education of Naperville children, but to the preservation of the natural environment. As a tribute to Julie, a fund was started to create a natural garden in her memory at the south entrance of the school. This courtyard  includes  plants, fencing, stone seating and a paved area with engraved bricks.

We would like to extend the opportunity to all Washington students, staff, alumni, families, and friends to help maintain  this memorial garden. By buying bricks and/or making a donation, you will honor a special educator, beautify the oldest school site in Naperville, and create a lasting and personal connection with the special place that is Washington Junior High.

For additional information, please feel free to call school at 420-6390. Order forms for engraved bricks and/or donations are available by clicking  here.

Washington Junior High School thanks you for your support.
