1. After reading this page, explain in your own words how, when and why did the Depression begin.
2 .Explain the Hoovervilles and the or Okies.
3. Who was elected president in 1932 and what did he do to help the country?
    1. What caused the dustbowl and how long  did  it last?
    2. How did the Dustbowl affect farmers in our nation  and what did many do to survive?
    3. What did President Roosevelt do to help relieve the farmers?

3. Letters to Mrs. Roosevelt  

    1. Read at least one letter from each category of letters sent to Mrs. Roosevelt
    2. Write about the child you think needed the most help and explain why.
    3. What did you think about the replies Mrs. Roosevelt sent to the children?
    4.  What do you think the responses tell us about Mrs. Roosevelt?

4. Children During the Depression 

1. Type "Children during the Depression Era." in the Search description box and Click on Search.
2. Open at least 10 of the pictures of Children during the Depression. Choose pictures of children from  various parts of the country, different times of the year and different races.
3. How do you think the Depression affected these children?
4. What do you think you could do to survive during a time such as this.
