FEBRUARY FOOD DRIVE

The New York Giants may have been the winner of the 2008 Superbowl but the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry were the big winners in our February Food Drive Blitz!  Thank you for all your hard work in providing contributions on the very cold and snowy winter days.  We were able to deliver many boxfuls of food to the pantry.  Your generous donations make a difference!

BREAKFAST WITH BOOKS FOR 3RD GRADERS

The SFCP Team has been very pleased at the participation in this new activity that we planned for the year.  This past November and January we had well over 40 participants start their day at 7:30 am to enjoy some morning reading time.  The children started the morning with and juice and doughnut snack while they read silently from a book they brought along.  Ms. Theodore, a recently retired Scott School reading specialist, kept us on the edge of our seats during storytelling time in the fall.  In January, the children were delighted to listen to stories read by our favorite physical education teacher Mr. Garrison.  We also appreciated the parent helpers who brought their blankets from home and sat with the children.  If you weren’t able to join us ---don’t worry.  You have one more chance to join in on Breakfast with Books for 3rd Graders on Wednesday, April 16th.  Look for the flyer that will come home with the 3rd graders in early April.

ANNUAL SCIENCE FAIR

The Scott School 7th Annual Science Fair was a huge success!

Congratulations to all participants - your hard work and creativity was evident in the projects presented that night.  Thank you to all who assisted with the fair - Doris Gott for your beautiful calligraphy on the certificates, families who enthusiastically guided the participants, school and custodial staff, and parent volunteers who helped with set-up and clean-up.

We are looking for volunteers to help with next year's science fair - if you feel inspired after this year's fair and would like to help out, please contact
