Scott School Safety

We wanted to take this opportunity to review the Scott School carpool guidelines and to pass on some important information from the Naperville Police Department. To project our children, all children who are driven to school must be picked up and dropped off in the driveway in front of school. Children should not be picked up or dropped off on Warwick Drive. Children should not be dropped off/picked up in the cul-de-sac on Warwick or walk across Warwick to a parked car. Please follow all traffic signs that are displayed in front of the school.

The traffic pattern established by the city is very safe and effective if drivers follow these simple rules:

1. Pull up to the farthest possible point in the carpool lane.

2. Do not walk across the carpool lane. Please use the crosswalk.

3. Do not leave your car unattended anywhere in the carpool lane at any time.

4. If you must escort your child to or from the building, please park your car in the visitor (diagonal) parking spaces.

5. It is illegal to turn left from Warwick into the Scott School circle drive during student arrival or dismissal.

6. Cars may not access the carpool lane from the cul-de-sac on Warwick. All cars must approach the carpool lane from Warwick and Coach Drive.

7. Do not turn right onto Naper Boulevard when the crossing guard and/or children are in the crosswalk.

8. Please do not park your car in the posted bus zone on Warwick Drive. You may park ahead of the signs that designate the bus zone.

Take a few extra minutes to allow adequate time to get your child to school on time. Teachers and staff are present to assist children before and after school to assure safety within the driveway. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation!
