The Scott Band performs several times throughout the year, including
winter program performances, a spring concert, and the fifth grade band
festival. Throughout the year students are working on performance music,
as well as, achievement lines and scale requirements. Additional
performances are occasionally scheduled for special events.
The Scott Orchestra
program consists of a weekly small group lesson and an orchestra
rehearsal. Small group lessons focus on developing note reading and
technical skills, while the orchestra rehearsal provides an opportunity to
apply these skills to the preparation of music for performance.
In addition to participating in their school orchestra, advanced string
players also have the opportunity to audition for the district-wide Honor
Strings Orchestra.
Orchestra meets at Scott School on Tuesdays, during the school day.
