We enjoyed meeting with all of you during conferences to discuss your child's progress. Your child is important to us and we appreciate your support to help lay a foundation of life-long learning. The second grade classes truly enjoyed their Popcorn Reading Celebration last month. Congratulations to all those students who met their goal of 750 minutes or more! It is important that students continue to read at home, even though we will not start our next reading club until January 2005. This December we began a unit called "Holidays Around the World". During this time we studied different cultures and how they celebrate their winter holiday. We concluded this activity with a "Holiday Around the World Lunch". Thanks to all those who brought in an ethnic food to share.
