"Peter and the Wolf"

       "Peter and the Wolf" was created by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev for his own children. Prokofiev was a major influence on 20th Century Music during his lifetime, (1891 - 1953).  The famous tale of "Peter and the Wolf" is very popular around the world with all ages. Each character in the story is represented by an instrument or family of the orchestra. During Symphony performances, the conductor narrates the story between musical sections.
