SFCP Family Connections

Family Connections would like to extend a big “Thank You” to all members of the NNHS community who have generously supported NNHS families in their time of need over the past year. You have answered over 50 specific calls and additionally helped over 45 families at each, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Your gifts were greatly appreciated.

We would like to invite all members of the NNHS community to join Family Connections in 2007-2008. The needs in our community are growing. Please consider this important community service in your giving plans this year. Here is how it works:

Family Connections is a volunteer group of Naperville North High School families working together to lend other NNHS families a helping hand during difficult times.

We seek volunteers to join the Family Connections Database, year-round. When a critical need is identified by the school nurse, social worker or teachers, Family Connections is notified of that specific need. All names and personal information is kept strictly confidential. Family Connections contacts its database of volunteers through email, with a request for the identified need. Most needs are met through donations of gift cards from local stores (Target, Jewel, Dominick’s, Kohl’s, and gas stations). The gift cards are dropped off in the NNHS nurse’s office, marked for Family Connections. The nurse then delivers the donations to the kids and families in need of immediate help.

As a database volunteer you can choose when and how to help each family in need. There is no pressure to help, only if you choose to help at that time. The database is confidential as are the families in need.
