The student will learn the life skill of word processing using Microsoft Office and the Internet. Throughout the semester, the student will be guided step by step, with hands-on instruction at a comfortable pace. Utilizing the word processing features, including enhancements, bullets, outlines, thesaurus, macros, merge, search/replace, columns and graphics, students will learn to format professional-looking documents. This course receives articulated credit at College of DuPage. See instructor or counselor for information.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING 303484 , 303485
Students will learn to design publications using Quark Express, PhotoShop and the Internet. Desktop publishing concepts and software procedures will be taught by utilizing "hands on" practice and applications. The professional elements of design and page layout will be studied and applied to a wide range of graphic and text-intensive projects including invitations, announcements, flyers, brochures, menus, and newsletters.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING/YEARBOOK 303482- 303483
Desktop publishing concepts and software procedures will be taught by using "hands on" practice and application. The professional elements of design and page layout will be studied and will be applied to yearbook production. The class will produce the school's yearbook. This class is for you if you would like to be staff members and editors of the school yearbook and enjoy writing.

MULTIMEDIA DESIGN & PRESENTATIONS 303486, 303487
Learn how to create appealing and cutting edge multimedia and web pages. This course covers the applications for Macromedia Flash, Fireworks and Free-Hand software. Flash is used to create small fast loading animations (animated logos and long-form animations). Fireworks is a graphics program used to create and edit images. Dreamweaver is used to visually design Web pages. FreeHand is a vector illustration tool. This course will teach you how to use and integrate these tools to create rich and dynamic applications.
