Taking education to a new flight level

Below is a list of the ideas presented at the first meeting. We will attempt to make these happen with a number of activities through the second semester.

We would like to bring in some movies that show what aviation is like in civil and military forms.

We would like to plan field trips to the local aviation museums to see different aircraft up close: Illinois Aviation Museum, Aurora Airport, and the Museum of Science and Industry

Activities are planned that can give members an idea what it is like to train to become a pilot: aerodynamics, meteorology, and airspace restrictions.

We will invite speakers to meetings who are actively involved in aviation.

Flight Simulators are a very popular way to experience aviation when ceilings are low and avgas prices are high. A PC simulator will be available for club members in the LRC
