Launching Scholastic Bowl 2005

President Woodrow Wilson was one of our more interesting Chief’s of State. But is legacy was worth far more.

He also holds the honor of appearing on the most valuable currency note ever produced in the United States - the $100,000 bill. Ten years after his 1924 death, Wilson’s likeness was imprinted on these certificates that were to be only used for transactions between the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve System. Among the more unique features in that the bills use red ink on the back, instead of the standard green and black, as they were never to be used by the general public.

Since 1969, no bill higher that the $100 bill has every been printed by the United States Treasury Department.
