Web Resources - District 203 Online Subscription Databases        

Naperville District 203 has subscribed to these online databases. Their resources are available to staff and students both at school and at home. Mill Street teachers have the passwords for each of these. Please check with them so that you and your students have easy access.

Maps 101 - This resource has a wide variety of world and United States maps. You will find interactive maps, historical maps, simple maps for primary students and more.

NetTrekker - This is search engine connects students to more than 180,000 educator-selected online resources. Because the sites have been screened, students can conduct their searches safely and effectively. Reading level, grade level are provided, and some sites offer a read-aloud feature or are available in another language.

Culture Grams - Students can learn about the cultures of more than 200 countries as well as important facts about each of the 50 states. It provides maps, glossaries, flags, national anthems, and many other feature to bring these cultures alive to students.

EBSCO - This resource offers students a variety of databases. There is a guide to periodical literature, including magazines, newspaper articles, and articles from journals. Users can find primary source documents, radio and TV transcripts, and gain access to a general encyclopedia.

World Book Online - The online version of the well-known general encyclopedia offers articles in both English and Spanish. It includes a variety of special features, including a built-in dictionary, atlas, "Today in History," and others.

Tumblebooks - This an online collection of e-books that has animated, talking picture books for children. They've taken existing books and added narration, music, sound, and animation to make the books come alive for students. Students can read the books themselves or have them read to them.
