Prairie Advocates In this multidisciplinary, inquiry-based project students prepare a plan and give a persuasive oral presentation to create a reconstructed prairie based on research.

Prairie Parcel Restoration  If you're interested in restoring large or small parcels of land to prairie, this site has a "how to" guide to help you.

The Inquiry Page Welcome! The Inquiry Page is more than a website. It's a dynamic virtual community where inquiry-based education can be discussed, resources and experiences shared, and innovative approaches explored in a collaborative environment.

SIMply Prairie SIMply Prairie is a student research project that has the potential to link classrooms in areas where the prairie once flourished. Students develop research questions with a special focus on the prairie plant population. To answer these questions students conduct a research study collecting data from a prairie plot and comparing their data with data from other native and/or reconstructed prairie plots. Students publish their data and their research study on the SIMply Prairie Website. As the project matures we expect classes will collaborate with other classes on joint research studies. The student data will be available to research scientists who encourage students to take an active interest in preserving and recreating native North American prairies.

Smallville Prairie Project 6-8 or 9-10 This multidisciplinary project can be used effectively in grades 6-8 or 9-10 with students of all ability levels. We expect teachers to modify the expectations and outcomes to match the developmental level of their students. This project is flexible enough to meet an individual teacher's schedule. Access to a prairie habitat enhances the student experience but is not required.

This interactive Internet and hands-on project focuses on a highly engaging problem regarding potential development of a prairie site. The problem is open-ended and lends itself to a variety of investigatory directions. Students solve a problem similar to a wide variety of real-life problems in many communities.

Web-based Instructional Materials  This Fermilab web page includes links to Classroom Units, Activities, and Student Resources.

If you're interested in adding to your Physics curriculum check out the Fermilabyrinth  A collection of Web-based games developed from selected hands-on exhibits at the Lederman Science Center introduces students in grades 6-12 to the science and technology of Fermilab. The site is equally valuable for classroom and home use.

Prairie Plant Finder This site will help you search for a certain prairie plant if you know some of it's characteristics.
