Academic Grading Scale

The Titans Team core teachers use the following scale to determine a student’s academic standing:

A = 100% - 90% B = 89% - 80% C = 79% - 70% D = 69% - 60% F = 59% or below

Homework Policy

Homework is an important responsibility for students on the Titans Team. The core teachers expect that students will complete assignments in a timely fashion. Results on homework will impact academic and effort grades. Late work may be turned in for partial credit. Individual teachers will establish specific guidelines regarding the value of late work.

Behavior Expectations

Good behavior and cooperation are essential for a good teaching and learning environment. The Titans Team teachers have developed this brief list of rules that applies to all students of the team:

These are our expectations of every student:

  1. Be in class when the bell rings with a pencil, pen, notebook paper, and textbook for the class.
  2. Promote honesty by doing his/her own schoolwork on assignments and tests.
  3. Use common courtesy by paying attention when others are talking.
  4. Refrain from disruptive, dangerous or destructive behavior.
  5. Follow all established rules and policies of Lincoln Junior High School and Naperville School District 203.

High School Registration and Recommendations

High school registration is one of the many important steps that eighth grade students take during this year. This process begins shortly after the winter recess when the Naperville Central High School counselors and administrative staff are introduced to Lincoln eighth graders at a team assembly. Students learn some basics about the registration process and receive a course description book at this time. A question and answer session follows. A week later, each student’s core teachers recommend high school coursework most likely to provide the student with an opportunity for challenge and success. The high school departments provide information regarding specific course content, expectations, level of difficulty, etc. This information, along with the student’s performance in each subject area, are use to make recommendations.
