The Penguin Team welcomes you to our web site.  The core team consists of the following teachers: Mrs. Butzen (language arts), Mrs. Davison (language arts), Mrs. Choate (math), and Mr. Langes (science).  All four teachers share in the instruction of social science. We also work closely with our 7th grade counselor, Mrs. Ro; the Academic Support coordinator, Mrs. Krenek; our reading specialist, Mrs. Malik, and our Title I instructor Mrs. Walsh; and our resource specialists, Mrs. Bartosz and Mrs. Ewanic.

Our team will be focusing on three goals this year for your child.  We feel that these goals should be at the center of every activity and lesson students encounter this year. 

 Ø       Students will be challenged academically to become complex thinkers and problem solvers using various learning strategies in order to create quality products. 

Ø       Students will be encouraged to become collaborative workers and community contributors as they increase their social and humanitarian awareness locally and globally.

Ø       Students will gain an understanding of what it means to be a self-directed learner, including goal setting and how goal achievement can positively affect their learning.
