Homework Expectations

We expect all students as self directed learners to be responsible for their homework.  We encourage all students to use the assignment notebook on a daily basis.  By using the assignment notebook, you will learn to manage your time and plan long term assignments.  You are provided with a variety of avenues to access your homework:

Ø Assignments are posted in each classroom.

Ø Long term projects and special events are listed on the assignment calendar monthly pages

Ø Homework is also available on-line at http://psbb1.naperville203.org/ You will need your child's log-in and password.

Team Homework Policy

Ø All assigned homework and projects are expected to be turned in on the given due date. 

Ø Late homework may receive partial credit at the teacher’s discretion.

Ø In case of an absence, you will have the number of days that you were absent to make up any missing assignments for full credit.

Ø To achieve homework success, you need to set aside time each day to complete your assignments.  As a guideline, you should NOT be spending more than an average of 60 minutes a night on homework.

Ø Parents will be notified when homework completion becomes a chronic concern.

Ø The team does not provide or accept extra credit projects. Students are expected to devote time and energy to mastering the curriculum standards in daily work.

HOMEWORK POLICY FOR MATH

You will be assigned math homework everyday.  Math is a subject that you need to practice daily.  Homework is checked in class and is collected daily.  At the end of a section (usually 1½ to 2 weeks) all homework for that section and a quiz will be sent home attached to a cover sheet.  Your homework grade, quiz/test grade, and current average will be recorded on the cover sheet.  Please have a parent sign the cover sheet and return it your math teacher.
