PE Uniforms All students are required to purchase and wear the official Lincoln Junior High School PE shirt everyday (6th graders shirt + black shorts w/ LINCOLN). All shirts must be appropriately marked with the student's last name for easy identification and to prevent theft. Student's are not allowed to wear another student's shirt at any time. Along with a PE shirt, students are required to wear athletic shorts or pants without pockets. Gym shoes are required as part of the uniform. Due to safety, students will not be allowed to participate without proper attire. All jewelry items such as watches, rings, and necklaces are not allowed in PE. If a student is not properly dressed, they will be required to complete a written assignment signed by their parents based on the activity of the day. Shirts and shorts are available for purchase from the PE staff. Locks and Locker Room A standard school physical education locker will be issued to each student the first week of class. If you lose your combo, contact your physical education teacher immediately. Food and drinks will not be allowed in the locker room. No sprays of any type are allowed in the locker rooms. Stick deodorant must be used daily. Attendance Students have 4 minutes to pass from class to class and then an additional 3 minutes to change and report to the gymnasium. Failure to be on time to class will result in a disciplinary action determined by the teacher. Medical All missed days of Physical Education will need to be made up by the student. If a student misses fewer than five consecutive days, students will be given a choice of make up activities to be scheduled with their Physical Education Teacher. If a student misses more than five consecutive days, students will be given an alternative make up assignment by their Physical Education Teacher. Students with an illness or injury may be excused from Physical Education with a parent note for up to three days. Anything more than three days, requires a doctor's note. Again, students will be expected to make up any missed days. All medical notes must be given to the health technician. General Conduct Rough housing in the locker room, hallway , gyms, or playing fields are dangerous and prohibited. Vulgar behavior and obscene language including profanity will not be tolerated. Students are expected to respect the rights and property of others. Students are not allowed in the PE offices, equipment areas, weight room, or health room without the permission of a teacher. Lancer PRIDE should be demonstrated during PE class at all times. |
