David J. Puk Seventh Grade Panthers Scientific literacy provides the background knowledge required to understand and deal with the public issues that face us in our universe. It is a mix of facts, vocabulary, concepts, history, philosophy and skill development enabling us to make informed, responsible decisions. The comprehensive curriculum consists of six (6) units covering areas in the life sciences, earth and space sciences, and the physical sciences. The emphasis of the curriculum will be to introduce students to facts, vocabulary, concepts, history, and philosophy through interactive, inquiry-based activities in the classroom and laboratory settings. Students will have the opportunity to use their own abilities to develop an appreciation for science. They will discover the wonders of the world around them and the interconnections between the various sciences. The six units covered will be:
