Math is not a spectator sport! We expect all students to actively engage themselves in their daily math experiences, not only in math class, but across the curriculum as well! 

The seventh grade curriculum for mathematics contains thematic modules that connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications. The lessons in this course will enable students to become actively involved in exploring, modeling, and communicating mathematics using a variety of tools, including technology when appropriate. The textbooks used throughout the year include Math Thematics and Connected Math 

The goals of this course are for all students to: 

  1. Learn all the middle grades' mathematics concepts and skills that prepare them for high school and beyond.
  2. Develop the reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills that enable them to apply mathematics to real-life situations.
  3. Value mathematics and become confident in using it to make decisions in daily life.
The focus of mathematics in seventh grade will include the following major topics:
  1. Geometry
  2. Probability
  3. Statistics

  4. Beginning Algebra
