HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is a critical part of a student’s learning.  It affords the student the opportunity to reinforce and apply the concepts, theories, and discoveries made in class.  Completion of homework assignments has a significant effect on a student’s grade and overall achievement in academics.  Each day the homework will be posted on www.schoolnotes.com .It is the student’s responsibility to copy the assignment down in their assignment notebook, complete it, and submit the assignment on time.

Student’s who fails to turn in or complete a homework assignment* on time in any of the academic areas will receive the following consequences:

o       First Trimester - a homework note to be signed by a parent/guardian will be issued along with a detention.*

o      Second Trimester - a homework note to be signed by a parent/guardian will be issued, the assignment will carry a loss of grade and a detention will be issued.**

o      Third Trimester - No late work will be accepted

*The assignment is in the classroom when collected by the teacher.

**The completed assignment and a parent/guardian signed homework note is required for admittance to the detention the next day for any incomplete/ missing assignment
