High School Registration and Recommendations
High school registration is one of the many important steps that eighth grade students take during this year. This process begins shortly after the winter recess when the Naperville Central High School counselors and administrative staff are introduced to Lincoln eighth graders at a team assembly. Students learn some basics about the registration process and receive a course description book at this time. A question and answer session follows. A week later, each student’s core teachers recommend high school coursework most likely to provide the student with an opportunity for challenge and success. The high school departments provide information regarding specific course content, expectations, level of difficulty, etc. This information, along with the student’s performance in each subject area, are used to make recommendations.
