Team Activities

The team concept has been in place at Lincoln Junior High School for over a decade and its merits continue to grow.  Flexibility scheduling has allowed teams to be involved in some exciting activities.  This school year will be no exception!  Our students will participate in the following:

1. Starved Rock.  Team will spend the day hiking and exploring.
2. The Mystery Shop. Actors perform an interactive mystery at Lincoln. 
3. Career Speaker Day.     Students choose several careers about which they wish to learn and attend presentations from individuals representing those careers.
4. Team Recognition Day.  Our team assembly/talent show helps wrap up the school year.
5. Navy Pier.  A cruise aboard the Spirit of Chicago.

We expect that all of these events will happen; however, circumstances may arise that are beyond the team’s control which require altering or canceling an event.

A Word about Field Trips, Fees, and Permission Forms

Field trips expand your child’s education beyond the four walls of our school.  Our teachers feel that they are valuable learning experiences and that they enhance the curriculum.  Extensive planning is required.  Buses have to be reserved and fees paid in advance.  Attendance lists have to be prepared and medications have to be made ready for some students.  Students must accept the responsibility to provide the required fees and to return permission slips to their teachers by the prescribed deadlines.  Failure to do so will force teachers to remove non-complying students from participation in a field trip.
