The sixth grade science program is designed to introduce students to the basic facts, concepts, and skills of science. This program is activity-based, engaging, and relevant to the student’s world. Students will use higher-order thinking skills to sharpen their ability to solve problems and apply scientific principles.

Assessment
· Student – keep an organized binder, journal, and portfolio to record progress
· Teacher – evaluate student’s daily performance

Homework
All work must be completed on time so progress is not hindered. Students need to be prepared for class each day. Students need to bring the science binder, textbook, ruler, and pens and pencils to class each day.
