Mr. Wainwright

 

 

Mr. Wainwright has been teaching Language Arts and Math in sixth grade at Kennedy for the last five years.  He received his Bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University and his Masters degree from National-Louis University.  Mr. Wainwright and his wife Heather recently welcomed their son, Dane, on June 21st.

How do individuals adapt to change and/or challenges? What enables individuals to survive and succeed? How do individuals influence changes in society?
   Enduring Understanding As students adapt to change and/or challenges they will grow as an individual and as a learner In order to succeed you need to acquire information, evaluate it for validity, and use it to make informed decisions. The Choices and decisions you make will cause change
   Performance Assessment Students make meaning of text by reading and responding through writing to works of fiction and nonfiction Students research a topic, keep a personal account of their progress, and submit an article for publication Students prove that their book has the greatest potential to impact society and is worthy of the award.  Then, as an active member of the nominating committee, students will help determine the best book for the award.
District Language Arts Outcome Students will read strategically to construct meaning.

Students will write to communicate for a variety of purposes.

Students will use literacy skills to acquire, assess, and communicate information. Students will use listening and speaking strategies to communicate in a variety of situations.
