Mrs. Stephanie Aspan
Newly married this past summer, I feel once again that life continues to surprise me in miraculous and enjoyable ways. My husband and I recently purchased a home in Elmhurst, which I am a product of, and now an addition to the Joneses; I finally understand why Merry Maids remains in business! Along with a new home, I’m continuing my teaching career in a new school district. Previously, I taught 7th grade Communication Arts, and coached Cross Country and Track and Field in Shorewood for two years. As a runner, I have completed five marathons, two of which were the Boston Marathon. The Nike Women’s Marathon represents the most impressionable race I’ve completed on several different levels: two of them being that I rose over $3,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and I qualified for Boston. My other interests include reading (the Kite Runner is currently my favorite book), concerts, baseball games, camping, and spending time with my family at our lake house. A graduate from Southern Illinois University, I’m continuing my education at Elmhurst College’s graduate school in the Teacher Leadership program. Besides obtaining a M.Ed., additional future goals of mine include qualifying for Boston again, finishing the rooms in my home, learning how to cook (well), smartly invest my money, and continue striving to provide the best learning experience for my students.
