Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is an ensemble of 7th grade students who intend to make a serious commitment to the performance of music at Kennedy.  The group is under the direction of Michael McManis.  Members are expected to attend all rehearsals, lessons, and performances.  Wind Ensemble members will perform high quality musical literature intended to challenge them as individuals as well as their understanding of an individual’s impact within a larger group.

Wind Ensemble members are expected to arrive prepared for all lessons, and large group classes.  Members are encouraged to independently master the majority of the technical aspects of the assigned literature and seek out any necessary additional assistance.  The majority of the students in this group have individually completed the first 100 exercises in Essential Elements Book II.  

Rehearsal schedule: 6th period – Monday, Wednesday, Friday
