Wonderful Websites for Kids!

http://www.kidsreads.com  (Bookworm) Here’s a website especially designed for children ages 6 – 12 years.  This site includes books by reading levels, subjects, and suggested Read-aloud selections.  Booker T. Worm invites the children to learn about the books using a closely monitored reading club.  Newsletters and contests are available.

www.storiesfromtheweb.org/  On this site, children ages 8 – 14 can write their own stories, poems or book reviews and hang them in the on-line gallery. Or, read a story from one of their favorite authors.

Parent Resources

www.theschoolbell.com is a fabulous resource for parents, students, and teachers! This website was created by Kathy Gursky, a teacher in the Brentwood Union School District, who is currently teaching first grade.

At www.teachersandfamilies.com, you can find suggested books for every grade level. It also provides a “lifetime” reading list for parents and young adults.
