Special Education Facilitator

Goals:

To assist students with special education needs for success in the regular education classroom.
To implement appropriate modification to help students access the curriculum.
To support teachers in meeting the learning needs of all students.
To assist the Elmwood Pupil Personnel Service Team in the identification of special  education needs in individual students.
To work in conjunction with parents and school personnel to provide for students' needs in acquiring an appropriate education.


Resources Provided:

Preparation of Individualized Education Plans (ISP).
Delivery of specialized individualized instruction
Support regular curriculum by small group instruction.
Prepare specialized study guides and testing formats based on learning styles.
Develop individualized curriculum modifications.
Provide information based on specialized measures.
Serve as resource for information and suggestions to parents and teachers in effort to help children meet their potential.

 
 

Special Education Facilitator

The special education facilitator coordinates and supports the individualized program designed for special needs students who are included in the regular education classoom.


Responsibilities

Hold regular team meetings to review progress and determine modifications and adaptations needed for upcoming curriculum.
Work closely with classroom teacher and related special service personnel to provide support and services
Deliver specialized instruction
Prepare Individualized Education Plans
Act as a communication link between parents and school personnel.
