Kindergarten
| Our philosophy is that we have the unique opportunity to introduce children to the concepts that will form a foundation for life-long learning. Current research on the human brain proves that the optimum time for learning is from birth to twelve years. | |
| We find ourselves right in the middle of that window of time, with children who are like sponges, soaking up information and ideas readily and with great appetites. With your help, we hope to find and develop these special abilities to whatever level possible while the children are in our care. | |
| Each grows at a different rate and matures at varied times. Yet, it is important that they learn to work cooperatively and become problem-solvers. We can support, extend and encourage students to meet their needs if you are willing to help. Communication will be open and frequent. We look forward to a fulfilling year! |
| SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT will be integrated parts of the academic
curriculum daily. Children will be provided with opportunities to experience and
explore responsibilities as group members, perceptions of self, and enhancement of
physical coordination, including fine and gross motor, and eye-hand coordination. All
curriculum areas will be linked and integrated with the purpose of making learning reflect
the real world. For example: mathematics will be part of
reading, writing, social studies, and science rather than a separate entity. |
