Elmwood Home and School Association is a division of the Naperville District 203 General Home and School Association.  The Association sponsors activities which enrich the educational experience for our children.

Events and Programs supported by Home and School:
   
Book Fair: A fund-raise during Fall/Spring conferences, where students, parents, and teachers purchase books and software  (photo)
Communications: Newsletter is sent home to families highlighting current activities, important information and events.
Community Service: Designs and coordinates various community projects throughout the year.
Field Day/ School Picnic End of the year school picnic includes various outdoor activities.  Volunteers help serve lunch and coordinate activities.  You will work with the Physical Education teacher.
Greeter Program:  Trained volunteers direct lobby traffic during school hours.
Hot Lunch: Volunteers serve hot lunch on designated day.  Students may choose from a selection of food items. Orders are taken twice a year ( for each semester).
Learning Resource Coordinator: Recruits and coordinates the LRC volunteers. Volunteers help with students who come for library activities.  Classroom teachers recruit computer volunteers.
Market Day: Coordinates the monthly fundraising program, which offers individuals the opportunity to purchase food items through the Market Day Company.  Volunteers unpack, organize, and distribute Market Day products.
Micro Fundraisers: Coordinates fundraisers such as Box Tops, Pizza Nights, and other new approved fundraisers.
Nominations: Oversees the process of filling the Executive Board and standing Committee Board positions.
Parent Awareness: Coordinates activities related to the health and safety of children such as Red Ribbon Week, Vision & Hearing Screening, Helping Hand Program, and Get High on Life Rally.
Programs & Assemblies: Plans and coordinates assemblies and extracurricular programs...oversees new committee in its first year.
Publicity: is responsible for publicizing the events at Elmwood in the local papers and the school marquee.
Publishing Center: Parent volunteers type student's work and help get it ready for "publishing".
School Store: is responsible for the operation of the School Store and ordering grade level supplies. Students may purchase school supplies on Thursday mornings.
Science Fair: This is a non-competitive activity for all grade levels.  It's held in January.
Spirit Bash  is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting an annual social fund-raiser.
Spirit Wear: Elmwood logo items are sold during Fall/Spring conferences.  Students wear spirit wear on Elmwood on Friday.
Staff Appreciation: organizes teacher/staff appreciation on a monthly basis.  Also helps Executive Board with the last day luncheon.
Student Recognition: Coordinates and recognizes programs such as vocal music, band and orchestra.
Wrapping Paper: Fall fund-raiser which offers all purpose as well as seasonal wrapping paper, ribbons, gift bags, candy, etc
Yearbook: Coordinates pictures from various events in preparation for printing.
