Self-control means to choose what you think is the right thing to do and
then getting yourself to do what you need to do.
Why is it important to be self-controlled?
If you are self-controlled, no one has to watch you to control you because you
are in control of yourself. Examples of showing self-control include controlling
your temper or appetite.

You demonstrate that you are self-controlled by being aware of yourself
and the rules around you and then following those rules without being told to.
If you are at a movie and they ask you to be quiet, self-contolled people
will follow the rules and not talk to others or bother the people around them.
