Persistent-Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison was born
in Milan, Ohio. He only went to school for 3 months! By the
time he was 12, he sold sandwiches and newspapers on trains.
One day, he saved a son
of a telegrapher from getting hit by a train! As his reward, the
telegrapher showed Thomas how to use the telegraph machine. Thomas
not only learned how to use the telegraph machine, he began to improve
the telegraph and he invented other machines as well.
Over the years, Thomas
Edison worked very hard to make over 1000 inventions or improvements on
previous inventions. Some inventions include the phonograph (record
player), electric lighting, and the first movie!
