What does it mean to be optimistic?
To be optimistic means to look on the bright side of a situation.
Some people may look at a glass which is filled half way up as half empty, but
optimistic people look at the glass as half full.
Why is it important to be optimistic?
If you are optimistic, you feel that you can make a difference in this world.
You look at every situation with a hopeful outlook. If you are optimistic,
chances are, others around you will be optimistic as well.
It can be a domino effect!
How do I demonstrate that I am optimistic?
You can demonstrate that you are optimistic by having a positive attitude
and by letting yourself get excited in whatever you are doing.
It is important to be optimistic because people who are optimistic can take
their place in the human race with confidence, cheerfulness, and a hopeful
outlook on life situations.
James Agee stated, " In every child who is born, under no matter what
circumstances the potentiality of the human race is born again."
Realizing that good habits formed at youth can make all the difference, we
have an outstanding opportunity to raise children who are optimistic.
Instead of saying, "Oh woe is me things are terrible.", our children can be
taught the brighter habit of saying, "Today is a new day." If our children see
this viewpoint modeled in their environments, they will come to believe that
they can make a difference in the world!
May you guide your child in eagerly approaching each day with excitement,
confidence, wonder, and optimism.
How do I demonstrate that I am optimistic?
Optimism is an attitude. It comes from the inside. Let yourself get
excited about what you are doing and what you are planning.
Believe that you can make a positive difference in the world and, then,
have the confidence to follow through on your belief.
