Students
What does it mean to be Kind?
To be kind means to be concerned for others and show them that you
care about them by being helpful and thoughtful.
Why is it important to be kind?
If no one were kind, the world would be a sad, lonely place because no one
would care about any other human (or animal) and everyone would only
look out for themselves.
How do I demonstrate being kind?
You demonstrate being kind by first seeing that someone needs help and
care and then making sure that you do what you can to help them out.
Remember, your actions affect others! You have the chance to make a
difference.
Questions
Without kindness no one would care about people (or animals) who need help.
Everyone would be looking out for himself/herself and the world would be a
lonely place.
It is important to be kind to make circumstances better for every one of us.
Being kind allows us to feel the connection we have with all other beings.
Being Kind is naturally of great benefit to the recipient, but it is also
emotionally rewarding to the kind person.
In the book, Random Acts of Kindness, countless stories underline the fact
that Kindness is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal.
It expands with every Kind action, touching and changing us all.
How do I demonstrate that I am Kind?
You demonstrate that you are Kind by noticing when someone needs care
and, then, by providing them with help or consideration.
In demonstrating Kindness, you exercise your ability to think about the needs
and feelings of others. For a child to develop, and continue to have,
empathy for others, the child must be reminded how his/her behavior
affects others. Being in the presence of adults who model Kindness,
reinforces the child's ability to act with Kindness.
