What does it mean to be joyful?
To be joyful means to be full of great gladness; delighted.
Joy is inside all of us. It comes from an appreciation for the gift of life.
Joy is related to fun but it is not exactly the same thing. Fun comes from
what is happening outside-having a good time. Joy comes from what is
happening inside.
Why is it important to be joyful?
It is important to be joyful because joy gives you wings! When you are joyful
your strength is more vital, your intellect is keener, and your understanding is
less clouded. When you are joyful, you are better able to cope with the world.
Without an inner sense of joyfulness, you can feel bounced around by the pain
and pressure of whatever is happening to you on the outside.
An inner sense of joyfulness provides you with a serenity to cope with whatever
is happening to you on the outside.
Nurturing your child's core-indeed, his/her soul-is what parenting is all about.
Children who are taught a basic understanding that the love of family and
friends is a joy, and that their bodies and minds and this universe are all
occasions for wonder, have the bulk of the joyful wisdom they will need in this
life.
A joyful heart enables the child to appreciate his/her own talents and the
talents of others; it allows him/her to mature from being the centerpiece of a
family to being an animated member of his/her world.
How do I demonstrate that I am joyful?
You demonstrate that you are joyful by infusing joy into whatever you are
doing.
Life can be so hurried and planned. The joyful family slows it all down to a
more lyrical, simple pace that supports a child's natural sense of wonder and
joy.
