What does it mean to be helpful?
If you are helpful to someone, you see that they need help and you give
them a hand. Just doing things that others ask you to do might help them
out, but if you are really helpful, you do not need to be asked!
Why is it important to be helpful?
As we talked about with cooperation, many things take more than one person
to get done, so helping others will allow them to finish their project or task.
When we help someone else, we show them that we care about them.
How do I demonstrate that I am helpful?
You help others even when they do not ask for it. Sometimes you may not
be able to see what type of help someone needs so you may need to ask them,
"How can I help you?"
Questions

Parents
What does it mean to be helpful?
To be helpful means to give of ourselves to aid others.
When you are helpful, you do useful things that make a difference. Helpfulness
is not always doing what other people want. This is just pleasing people-whether
it is good for them or not,
Helpfulness is assisting people in what they need.
Why is it important to be helpful?
It is important to be helpful because many things take the effort of more
than one person. People often need help to meet their needs or get things
done.
When people practice helpfulness, they show they care for others. We all need
help at times. When people come together to help one another, great things
can get accomplished.
How do I demonstrate that I am helpful?
You demonstrate that you are helpful by noticing what people need. You
notice what they need and you help.
To be helpful, you need to be aware of others, care about others, and want
to give of yourself to aid others.
If you cannot discern what someone needs, ask them, "How can I help?"
