Paula Zahn
Class of 1974
Alumni Recognition Award, 1996 |
While Harry Kalas's voice is known to millions, Paula Zahn's face is
equally well known. Some 3.5 million Americans from coast to coast start
their day with Paula, Harry and the crew on CBS News This Morning. Paula
is one of the most respected people in the current field of broadcast journalism.
Her television journalism work has earned her three Emmy awards following
her work for television stations in Chicago, Dallas, San Diego, Houston,
Boston and Los Angeles. Paula was also named one of the 1992 National Mothers
of the Year, received the 1993 Albert Einstein College of Medicine Spirit
of Achievement Award, and in 1995, she was awarded a citation for her contributions
to the battle against breast cancer by the Beth Israel Medical Center.
She even made her Carnegie hall debut, performing on the cello with the
New York Pops orchestra in 1992! Needless to say, NCHS is very proud to
call Paula Zahn one of our own.
