Harold Moser
Class of 1933
Alumni Recognition Award, 1996 |
Mr. Moser, more than any other individual, is responsible for Naperville
shedding its small farm town status and becoming the city it is today.
Through his visionary efforts, Mr. Moser helped develop more than thirty-three
neighborhoods and subdivisions in the community. In addition to his land
developing efforts, Mr. Moser built two golf clubs (Cress Creek and White
Eagle); served as Naperville City Police Magistrate (16 years), Naperville
Township Clerk (18 years), Chair of Police/Fire Commission (10 years);
and is past president of the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association
and the Naperville Chamber of Commerce. He also served as trustee of Ss.
Peter and Paul Church (35 years) and was a member of the Joliet Catholic
Diocese Bishop Consulters Group (30 years.) He is also a recipient of a
rare honor: the Pro Ecclesia et Pontefice medal, awarded by the Pope. It
is the highest award given to a lay person. As the awards committee said,
"We would be hard pressed to find any citizen of Naperville that has not
been touched by Mr. Harold Moser."
