The following resources are available to all students and staff of Naperville Central High School.  Some of them are subscription databases requiring an account name and password. These are available in the LRC at NCHS.  Students can submit Inter-Library Loan requests for materials located in libraries other than NCHS's by completing this I.L.L. Form.

For those who struggle with creating correct bibliographies, this site can be a life-saver.  Select the type of source you need to cite, enter the pertinent information, click "finish" and you see the correctly cited source.  Select another source and keep adding.  The site offers you three options for printing:  print from the screen, save the bibliography as a Word document, or e-mail the file to yourself.  Citations are based upon the 5th edition of the MLA Style Manual.

is a project of the Northern Illinois University Libraries, DeKalb, Illinois. IPO start-up funding was provided by the Illinois State Library, a Division of the Office of the Secretary of State, using federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds awarded to them by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)."   
To date, the IPO project has reached agreement with ten journals: Illinois Country Living, Illinois Heritage, Illinois History: A Magazine for Young People, Illinois History Teacher, Illinois Issues, Illinois Municipal Review, Illinois Parks & Recreation, Outdoor Illinois, Point of View, and Prairie Farmer. The digital imaging of these titles is an ongoing process. The goal is to scan a magazine's entire backrun up to the current time. *  On the Landmark Project page, look for "Web Tools - Permission Request".  This opens a new window with a template for requesting permission to use materials with a lesson (for teachers).  On the left side of that screen is a link for  A STUDENT template.  Once filled in, the site will automatically send the letter created.
