This year long course is designed for students who are not in
the college-bound mathematics sequence. Topics covered include: computing wages;
income tax, return on investment for stocks and bonds; and interest on loans,
savings accounts, and credit cards. Also covered are personal finance topics
such as calculating the cost of owning a car, traveling, purchasing food and
other goods, insurance, housing, and retirement. This course is team taught by
the Math and Business Departments if enrollment warrants. Topics taught by the
Math Department are reinforced by the Business Department using computers.
