1. Regular attendance is expected. It is your responsibility to find out what
was missed when absent. Check your
assignment calendar for missed homework.
Check the appropriate folder for worksheets.
2. If you are absent on the day before a
test or an assignment is due (field trips and pre-arranged absences included),
and you knew about it, you are expected to take the test or turn in the
assignment as scheduled.
3. If you are absent on a test or quiz day,
you will make up the quiz the next day you are in class. If your absence is an extended one, I will
allow one day for each day of absence to make up the missing assignment, quiz
or test.
4. You are expected to come to class
prepared. This includes bringing your
textbook, notebook, calculator and assignments.
5.
If you will be on a
field trip, please notify me 3-4 days in advance so we may discuss assignments.
1. Food and beverages are NOT permitted in the classroom, per
NCHS policy. Please dispose of all items
before entering the classroom.
2.
I will issue limited
hall passes. Please be reasonable in
your requests.
3. Any instance of cheating will result in a
zero on the assignment, quiz or test, as well as appropriate disciplinary
actions and phone calls home. Cheating
includes, but is not limited to, copying homework, removing quiz or test
answers from the classroom, sharing calculators or giving or receiving help on
quizzes and tests. NO MAKE-UPS WILL BE ALLOWED.
4.
The classroom will be a safe
environment. Any instances of teasing,
physical contact with a classmate or harassment will be addressed with
appropriate disciplinary actions and phone calls home. Please inform me of any behaviors you deem
inappropriate as well.
Here
is what you will need on a daily basis:
1.
A hard cover, 3-ring binder with loose-leaf paper
2.
A pencil with eraser and a pen
3.
A GRAPHING calculator
4.
Textbook
The following grading scale will be used:
A 100% - 90% B 89% - 80%
C 79% - 70% D 69% - 60%
F Below 60%
The semester grade will be calculated based on 80%
of your semester work and 20% from the final exam.
Grades
will be determined using total points earned in the class over the course of
the grading period. I will round grades
up to 1% only if your homework grade
is 95% or better.
Tests: Partner Tests and
Individual Tests will be given at the end of each unit. There are approximately 2-3 tests per
quarter. All partner tests are worth 50
points and all individual tests are worth 100 points.
Quizzes: Generally, a
quiz will be given every 2 or 3 sections.
I will drop two lowest quiz scores at the end of the semester.
Assignments: Typically,
homework will be assigned every day. Homework will be checked occasionally for
completeness (4 points per assignment). You must show all work to receive full
credit for homework.
Extra
Credit: I will issue Math Money as extra credit for
volunteers who present problems to the class.
This will be turned in at the end of each quarter and added to the
quarter grade. Math money is worth 1/2
point.
I
will be available for help in the Math Office (Room 62) during 4th
and 6th period and after school.
I am NOT available
before school for extra help. Please
notify me in advance if you plan to come for extra help.
