Hello, thank you for being interested enough to investigate about your teacher or your child's teacher. Curiosity is essential to learning and an exciting life. The following information gives you a little extra insight and information about me.I graduated with a degree in history from Illinois State University. While attending ISU, I played on the Men's Club Volleyball Team. I graduated in December of 1992. I have been teaching ever since. All of my years of teaching have been at Naperville Central, even my student teaching was done in the Humanities Department of NCHS. This will be by my 15th year teaching Cultures of the World and United States History and it will be my 10th teaching Cultural Anthropology.
I have completed my Master's Degree at North Central College. I received my degree in Education Administration. Having completed my degree, I spent a year of my career as the interim department chairperson for the Humanities Department. I am very excited to be back to the classroom full-time.
I enjoy a variety of activities in my free time. I enjoy sports immensely, both as a spectator and as a participant. I played on an Australian Rules Football team for the last 8 years. I still play volleyball and basketball frequently and run about 4 times a week. In the fall I coach girls' volleyball as well.
My favorite pastime however is traveling. I have been to Europe several times, where I have done everything from running with the bulls in Pamplona to exploring the Catacombs in Paris, to relaxing on the beaches of the Greek Isles. My wife and I went to New Zealand and Australia six years ago, where we saw our first "Footy" game. The most exciting trip I have taken was in the summer of 1999. We went to the Middle East! It was amazing. We SCUBA dove the Red Sea, floated in the Dead Sea, trekked the ancient city of Petra, and toured the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. I have been to Buddhist temples in Japan and climbed Great Wall in China. I have hiked to an active lava flow on the Big Island of Hawaii. The world is a fascinating place and there is still so much of it I have not seen.
I look forward to getting to know you. I am sure the semester will be an adventure. Thank you for your curiosity.
