"Poetry is the human soul entire,
squeezed like a lemon or a lime,
                     drop by drop,
                             into atomic words."

                                         --Langston Hughes
Poetry and Poetic Devices
If the periodic table is what makes up everything in the physical realm, and if archetypes are the periodic table of literature, then poetic devices are the periodic table of poetry. Visit this link often--you will be tested on these terms, expected to be able to identify them when you see them, and be able to incorporate them into your own poetry. Feel free to print up a copy for you learning convenience.
