Adapted P.E. Activity Offerings
It is the objective of adapted physical education to contribute to physical, social, emotional and mental development through participation in a variety of physical activities.

The program is organized to place emphasis on fitness, wellness and life long skills.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of experiences.  The activities offered include individual and team sports, gymnastics and tumbling, dance, aquatics, first aid and C.P.R., fitness activities, fitness testing, and self-improvement activities.

Students will use heart rate monitors to understand the valued effects of exercising at appropriate individual fitness levels.  Fitness testing will also be included at every grade level.

These requirements mirror those of the regular physical education program and are adapted according to each student's individual needs.  Special emphasis is also placed on social interaction, independence, and self-confidence.

In addition to the curricular offerings, students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities.

Activities from this list are offered on a selected basis as determined by the instructor.  Students are required to pass 6 Fitness classes, 4 Team Sports classes, 3 Individual classes, 2 Aquatics classes, 2 Gymnastics classes, 2 Dance classes, and C.P.R.  This will insure that each student will receive broad-based exposure to various types of activities.  To view photos of the various activities offered, click on the highlighted activity!
