·        V.  IRON MAN, NUMERAL, AND LETTER REQUIREMENTS:

 

A. Iron Man Requirements:

 

To be an Iron Man, a wrestler must be in attendance for all required duals and tournaments and for all practices.  Tardiness will count as an absence.  Absences, whether excused or unexcused, will take you out of Iron Man competition, with the following exceptions:  (1) participation in a fall sport competing into the wrestling season, (2) college visits for athletic recruiting purposes, (3) school field trips for a core academic class, (4) bereavement for an immediate family member, (5) National Honor Society induction.

 

B.  Numeral Requirements:

 

            1. Wrestlers has stayed out for wrestling the entire season.

            2. Attended practice and meets regularly and on time.

            3. Has demonstrated a desire to learn the fundamentals of wrestling.

            4. Has made an all out effort to secure a place on the team by challenging.

            5. Has turned in all equipment or paid for lost articles at the end of the season.

Spring Requirements

  1. Go out for a spring sport and finish in good standing
  2. Attend off-season tournament
  3. Attend Spring Club practice
  4. Attend lifting workout
  5. Attend wrestling camp

  1. Go out for a fall sport and finish in good standing
  2. Attend lifting workout
  3. Attend open gym wrestling
  4. Attend morning or after school running

In-Season Requirements:

  • Meet Numeral Requirements AND
  • Wrestle varsity for ¼ of matches and have a positive point total OR
  • Wrestle varsity for ¼ of matches and qualify for Regionals OR
  • Coaches discretion – out due to injury OR
  • Coaches discretion – four years in wrestling program

 

Note: Spring and Fall Requirements may be waived if extenuating circumstances apply.  The coaches again will use discretion to determine if a wrestler has these requirements waived.  Examples include: illnesses, injuries, move-ins, etc.
